The insides have been hollowed out, each is hand-carved (with help from primitive power machines) from a single solid piece of sustainable Mango wood, and finished with Livos antique oak oil that is polished to a water-resistant and food safe matte finish. These natural oils are translucent, so the wood grain detail is highlighted. There is no oily feel and cannot bleed into carpets. Dried in solar or propane kilns, no chemicals are used in the process, ever. The sustainable Mango wood comes from plantations.
